How do I edit my profile?

Your profile is your chance to make a great first impression. Here's how to make it authentically yours.

OtterHalf requires members to have between four to six photos (depending on local requirements) and three prompt answers.

This helps create a complete picture of who you are, so other members can get to know the real you.

Editing Your Profile:

  1. 1Tap the Profile tab (bottom right of the navigation bar).
  2. 2Tap your profile photo (the pencil icon appears on the photo).
  3. 3
    Scroll through the Edit tab to update different sections:
    • My Photos: Add, remove, or reorder your photos
    • Prompts: Edit your three prompt answers
    • Interests: Add interests that describe you
    • Partner Qualities: Add qualities you're looking for
    • Languages: Add languages you speak
    • The Basics: Gender, Height
    • Location: Location, Hometown, Raised In, Community
    • Work & Education: Job and education details
    • My Lifestyle: Dating Intentions, Religion, Political Beliefs, Dietary Preference, Drinking, Smoking, Weed, Want Kids, Have Kids, Zodiac Sign
  4. 4Tap any field to edit it. You'll be taken to a screen where you can make your changes.
  5. 5When you're done making changes, tap Done in the top right corner to save. Tap Cancel to discard your changes.

Previewing Your Profile:

  1. 1Tap the Profile tab (bottom right of the navigation bar).
  2. 2Tap your profile photo to open the edit screen.
  3. 3Tap the View tab at the top of the screen to see how your profile appears to others.

Updating Your Location:

Your location is automatically detected using GPS. If location isn't updating, you may need to grant location permissions:

  1. 1Tap the Profile tab and then tap your profile photo.
  2. 2Scroll down to the Location section and tap on Location.
  3. 3Tap Detect My Location to automatically detect your current location.
  4. 4If prompted, grant location permissions when the system dialog appears.

If Location Permission Was Denied:

If you previously denied location access, you'll need to enable it in your device settings:

On iPhone:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Scroll down and tap OtterHalf
  3. Tap Location
  4. Select While Using the App or Always

On Android:

  1. Open Settings on your Android device
  2. Tap Apps or App permissions
  3. Find and tap OtterHalf
  4. Tap Permissions
  5. Tap Location and select Allow all the time or While using the app

After enabling location permissions, return to the OtterHalf app and tap Detect My Location again.
