How does OtterHalf use profile information?
OtterHalf uses the information you provide in your profile to help connect you with compatible matches. This includes:
- Profile information: Your age, location, preferences, interests, and other details you share
- Activity data: Who you like, skip, or match with, and how you interact with the app
- Preferences: Your dating preferences and filters to help us find people who align with what you're looking for
How does OtterHalf use profile information for recommendations?
We use your profile information to power our matching algorithm and recommend compatible people to you. This helps us connect you with other great OtterHalf members who share your values and interests. OtterHalf uses this information for the following purposes:

We use the information you and other members provide (including age, location, preferences, cultural background, who you like, skip, or match with) to power our matching algorithm and recommend compatible people to you. We use the same process to recommend you to other users.
You can always change your discovery settings to filter profiles which are shown to you on OtterHalf.
To promote safety and security.
We use profile information as part of our moderation efforts (for example, removing bots), as well as to promote the safety and security of our users by making it easier to prevent illegal and unauthorized actions from happening and to swiftly and efficiently detect and fight those actions when they happen.
This processing may lead to suspension or account closure for users who are reported or found to engage in illegal or unauthorized activities, both on and off our services, without prejudice to other legal actions we could take.
