OtterHalf

Why was my account banned?

A ban means we found activity that broke our Terms of Service. We enforce our rules so OtterHalf stays safe and respectful for everyone.

Banned accounts can’t be used to create a new profile. You can still submit an appeal (see below).

Why we don’t always share ban details

  • Sometimes we show a reason in the app when you’re banned.
  • Often we don’t give specific details. Bans can be based on reports from other users, human review, or automated systems. We don’t share details so we can protect people who report and keep our process fair.

We don’t answer requests for more detail about a ban. Ban reasons are also not included in data export requests.

Who decides?

Bans are decided by OtterHalf’s moderation team. Team members are trained and come from varied backgrounds so we can make fair, consistent decisions.

Subscriptions and refunds

  • If you had a paid subscription, cancel it (via Apple or Google) to avoid future charges.
  • Refund requests go through Apple or Google. See how to request a refund.
