Photo guidelines
Your photos help others get to know you. To keep OtterHalf authentic and safe, all profiles must follow these requirements. Photos that don’t meet our guidelines may be removed, and repeated violations can lead to account action under our Terms of Service.
First photo requirement
Your first photo must clearly show your face. This helps build trust and is required for all OtterHalf profiles. Avoid:
- Sunglasses or hats that obscure your face
- Heavily filtered or edited photos that don’t look like you
- Group shots where it’s unclear who you are
- Blurry or low-quality images
What we look for
- Clear, well-lit photos where your face is clearly visible
- At least one solo photo of yourself
- Recent photos that reflect who you are now
- Photos that represent you authentically
What’s not allowed
To align with our Community Guidelines and Prohibited Content & Behavior, do not upload:
- Sexually explicit, pornographic, or nude content
- Photos of anyone else (including using someone else’s likeness to pretend to be them)
- Photos of minors, including childhood photos of yourself
- Violent, graphic, or harmful content
- Fake or AI-generated images used to mislead others
- Content you don’t own or don’t have permission to use
- Ads, logos, or promotional content
How we moderate photos
Photos are reviewed using a combination of automated systems and human reviewers. We aim to keep the community safe and authentic. Content that violates our rules can be removed and may result in a warning, suspension, or account termination.
