How can I make a Privacy Request?
You’re in control of your data on OtterHalf. Below are the main ways to exercise your privacy rights.

Accessing Your Data – Data Export Requests
If your profile is still active, you can request a data export from the OtterHalf app. We process requests within 7 business days. Your data will be available for 48 hours after it’s ready; after that, you’ll need to submit a new request.
Not all data is included in exports. For example, personal information about other OtterHalf members is excluded to protect their privacy and safety. You can request your own message history (messages you sent only; we cannot provide messages sent by your match). Data is typically available for the past two years; older messages may no longer be stored.
To request your data in the app:
- Sign in to the OtterHalf app
- Tap the Profile tab (person icon in the bottom navigation)
- Tap the Gear icon to open Settings
- Scroll to the Legal section and tap Download My Data
- Follow the on-screen instructions: open the Help tab, tap Contact Us, select Privacy as the category, and write "I would like to download my personal data" in your message

Account Deletion
To delete your profile permanently:
- Sign in to the OtterHalf app
- Tap the Profile tab (person icon in the bottom navigation)
- Tap the Gear icon to open Settings
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- Follow the prompts and confirm
This action ensures that all your content, including photos, chat history, and member interactions, will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy (see 'How Long We Retain Your Data').
Simply uninstalling or deleting the OtterHalf app from your phone will not close your account entirely. You must follow the above steps to close your profile.
If you've already deleted the app from your phone, you can reach out to our support team by emailing support@otterhalf.app and we'll be happy to help.
Please note that if you subscribe to a paid membership, you must take the necessary steps with the App Store or Google Play Store to ensure you are not charged an auto-renewal subscription fee.
Rectify/Correct Profile Information
You can add, edit, adjust, or limit visibility for any preference or profile criteria on your OtterHalf profile within the Profile screen in your OtterHalf App.
