How can I make a Privacy Request?

Privacy is a top priority for OtterHalf, and we want you to be in control of your information. If you have a privacy request, please review the information below for options available to you.

If you need assistance, you can Submit a Request using our Support Bot in the Lower Right Corner and use the Privacy Requests topic to reach our support team.

Accessing Your Data - Data Export Requests

If you have not closed your profile you may download your data directly from the OtterHalf app. Exports are typically ready within 30 days, but may take longer based on file size and request volume. To protect your privacy and security, your data will only be available for 48 hours.

Please keep in mind that not all data is accessible. For example, your data export will exclude personal information about other OtterHalf members. This protects the privacy and safety of other users.

To request your data within the OtterHalf app:

  1. Sign in to the OtterHalf app
  2. Tap your Photo Icon on the far right of the navigation bar
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Download My Data
  5. Select your Country
  6. Tap Download My Data again
  7. Confirm your email address
  8. Tap Submit

Account Deletion

To delete your profile permanently:

  1. Sign in to the OtterHalf app
  2. Tap your Photo Icon on the far right of the navigation bar
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Delete Account
  5. Confirm

This action ensures that all your content, including photos, chat history, and member interactions, will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy (see 'How Long We Retain Your Data').

Simply uninstalling or deleting the OtterHalf app from your phone will not close your account entirely. You must follow the above steps to close your profile.

If you've already deleted the app from your phone, you can reach out to our support team by tapping Submit a Request below and we'll be happy to help.

Please note that if you subscribe to a paid membership, you must take the necessary steps with the App Store or Google Play Store to ensure you are not charged an auto-renewal subscription fee.

Rectify/Correct Profile Information

You can add, edit, adjust, or limit visibility for any preference or profile criteria on your OtterHalf profile within the Profile screen in your OtterHalf App.
